About the Paleo Diet and the Paleo Lifestyle

What Is The Paleo Diet?

The paleo diet, or what we like to call the "CaveMan Diet", is a modern nutrition plan based on what human species consumed in the Paleolitic era. Since wooly mammoths aren't readily available at the local Whole Foods grocery store, the modern paleo diet is centered around now commonly available foods that you could find in most grocery stores. These paleo friendly foods consist mainly of grass-fed pasture raised meats, fish, eggs, nuts, roots, fruit, and vegetables. Even though there are doctors and experts whom differ on the foods that were consumed within this period but all will agree that the diet should exclude grains, legumes, dairy products, potatoes, refined salt, refined sugar, and processed oils.

At CaveMunch.com, we understand how difficult eating a paleo diet can be since we are bombarded by refined and processed foods, so we'll do what we can to give as much information and awesome paleo recipes from the most amazing Paleo "Cave Chefs" in the universe.

We all know cavemen didn't eat cheesecake and pizza, but there are times we'll need a resource to find out if certain foods are "paleo" and which foods are not. Here's the paleo food list basics:

As new generations enter this world, the American diet needs to change. We're not saying that you have to forage for wild plants, nuts, and seeds but that we should eat we pay attention to what we are eating. Since the American diet is processed foods, sugars and grains, we see the results in the rising lifestyle diseases that plague us today: heart disease, arthritis, obesity, autoimmune disorders and more.
